Sun and Fun

What a great week of weather!  It looks like it could get hot enough that you may even want to put some sunscreen on your child this week.  Make sure that they come with it on or can reapply it themselves.

This week we will continue with our history unit in Lead 21.  We will be focusing on what we can learn from amazing people.  Even though it is a short week we will be having a spelling test on Thursday. This test can be hard for them.  A little extra practice will help.

In math, we will continue with geometry.  We are moving away from solid figures and onto plane shapes.  The class is having lots of fun with geometry.

We are still very low on snacks.  If you have time to pick up an extra box of crackers I know the kids would appreciate it.

Our annual classroom carnival is coming up on Friday, April 17.  All proceeds go directly to the classes that participate.  First grade uses their money for field trips, to bring in special presentations, etc.  First grade is in charge of the duck pond.  We are in need of some parent volunteers to help run our booth.  We are asking that you work a minimum of 30 minutes, but you are certainly welcome to work longer.  If you are available to help out at the duck pond please email me at martinw@billingsschools.org.  We appreciate your help!

We will have noon dismissal on Thursday.  No school on Friday or Monday.  School resumes on Tuesday, April 7.

Have a great week and safe travels to those who will be traveling over the holiday weekend.
