We had a great day in first grade.  I hope they enjoyed today as much as I did.  We started our day by checking supplies and drawing a self-portrait.  Next, we sang a song to help learn each other's names.  We had library this morning with Mrs. Anderson.  They even got to check out a book.  They need to return it by next Wednesday. We worked on some classroom procedures and before we knew it the morning was over and we were heading to lunch.  We came back from lunch and made a classmate bookmark.  Read "The Little Engine that Could" and discussed how we will be doing some challenging activities in first grade.  With an "I think I can" attitude they will be able to complete those challenges!  We went to afternoon recess, came in and had snack, and then it was time to get ready to go home.

Make sure you return the green student information sheet I sent home with you on "Meet the Teacher" night.  It is two-sided and I can only post pictures of your child on the home page with your permission.  Make sure you circle whether or not you will allow it.
