Dear Parents,
Tomorrow is Field Day!  This is one of the kid’s favorite days.  They will be outside from 9-10:50 playing games planned by Mrs. Buss, our P.E. teacher.  Please help us make this day successful by making sure your child has tennis shoes, water bottle (they can use their classroom one), sunscreen already applied, hat, and sunglasses (optional).  FUN!   Field Day helpers need to be outside with Mrs. Buss by 8:45.
The kids have completed their animal reports and are eager to show them to you. The kids will be presenting their animal reports on Tuesday, June 3rd at 1:30- that is a change from the original time of 1:00.  Mark your calendars!  If you want to take your child home early that day, you will need to check them out at the office.  Would you like to donate juice, cookies or another baked item for this big event?  Just email me and let me know.
First grade will be going on a field trip to Riverfront Park on June 2nd from 9:00 to 1:30.  Students must have their permission slip returned in order to participate. This will supplement our science objective of living things, non-living things and habitats.  Remember to have your child prepared: sunscreen (already applied), bug spray (already applied), hat, water bottle, and packed lunch. Field Trip helpers your instruction packet will come home on Friday.
Remember the cafeteria will no longer accept lunch charges in May.  Make sure you child has lunch money or they will get a peanut butter sandwich (no jelly).
Are you thinking about moving?  Please let me know if this is a possibility.  This helps us when we are creating class lists for next year.  Thanks!

Hello Parents
A reminder is in your envelope if you have not returned your school pictures.  Please send money if you wish to keep these.  If not, return the pictures to school.  Thanks!
May 23 is the 1st grade music performance “Stone Soup”.  It will start at 9:45.  It will last about 30 minutes.  Hope to see you there.
May 29th is Field Day.  Mrs. Buss is looking for volunteers. The tentative times for our field day are 9:00 - 10:40 am.
First grade will be going on a field trip to Riverfront Park on June 2 from 9:30 to 1:30.  This will supplement our science objective of living things, non-living things and habitats.  I am going to need some parent volunteers.  E-mail me if you are interested!
Return your field trip permission slip.  Students who do not return these will have to stay at school with another class.  That would be very sad!
We have been working hard on our animal reports and will be presenting them on June 3 at 1:00.  I will need a few volunteers to help with the animal research project.  If you are able to come on any Monday or Wednesday at 1:30, please let me know.  I promise it won’t be difficult.  I am also looking for treats and drinks for our presentation.
Remember the cafeteria will no longer accept lunch charges in May.  Make sure you child has lunch money or they will get a peanut butter sandwich.
This is our last week to check out library books.  All books must be returned by May 23th.

Wishing you well,
Mrs. Martin
