The kids had a great time on field day. Mrs. Buss had some great games and all the kids were prepared with hats, water, sunscreen etc. Thank you for helping make this day enjoyable! Our animal research is going great! Most of the kids are near completion. Now we are going to make them into an e-book. The kids will be presenting their animal reports on Wednesday, April 29th at 1:30. Mark your calendars! Would you like to donate cookies or another baked item for this big event? Just email me and let me know! A big thanks goes out to the parent volunteers: Mrs. Gleason, Mrs. Francis and Mrs. Norman. We couldn’t have done it without you! First grade will be going on a field trip to Riverfront Park on May 30th from 9:00 to 1:30. This will supplement our science objective of living things, non-living things and pond life. I am still in need of a few more parent volunteers. E-mail me if you are interested! Remember the cafeteria will no longer accept lunch charges in May. Make sure you child has lunch money or they will get a peanut butter sandwich. Are you thinking about moving? Please let me know if this is a possibility. This helps us when we are creating class lists for next year. Thanks! You are going to start seeing some items coming home from school. I recently sent home a problem of the day math book. We were unable to use these this year but it would be great review for your child over the summer. On May 28th we will be having a pizza party! Yummmy!

Last Wednesday we practiced an evacuation drill. The whole school walked to a church on Wicks Lane. Everyone did great! A reminder is in your envelope if you have not returned your school pictures. Please send money if you wish to keep these. If not, return the pictures to school. Thanks! First grade will be going on a field trip to Riverfront Park on May 30th from 9:00 to 1:30. This will supplement our science objective of living things, non-living things and pond life. I am going to need some parent volunteers. E-mail me if you are interested! Return your field trip permission slip. Students who do not return these will have to stay at school with another class. That would be very sad! I will need a few volunteers to help with the animal research project. If you are able to come on any Monday at 1:15, please let me know. I promise it won’t be difficult. Remember the cafeteria will no longer accept lunch charges in May. Make sure you child has lunch money or they will get a peanut butter sandwich. This is was our last week to check out library books. All books must be returned by May 17th.
